Tate Modern's Steve McQueen exhibition was really moving. Steve McQueen is a British film director, known for 'Widows' (2018) and '12 Years A Slave' (2013). Most of the pieces of displayed were moving image with the exception of a sculpture and a photograph . I found his videos really visually pleasing.
A short film displayed titled 'Ashes' was presented on two screens back to back. One side with footage of the idyllic setting of Grenada of a young black man on the prow of a boat and the other side revealed a construction of a tomb for the man on the boat who the audience discovers was shot. The narration was played both sides of the screen but the different footage sparks different emotions.
